During this season of Lenten reflection, our congregation is taking time to hear from one another. Each Wednesday evening, we read a different creed, discuss what resonates or challenges us, and hear from a different member their reflection. This past week, Travis and I shared a brief reflection of adoption and our faith. Connections

If you have spent some time with Travis and I, you have probably heard us talk about our church--we love it, we can’t help it. Recently, we joined in relationship and prayer with our partner congregation to match with another family/couple/individual to be prayer partners. We somehow managed to be paired with a fellow adoption journeying mama! She lives in our neighborhood and has recently begun the process of searching for agencies and programs and we are so grateful to have made another connection on our journey--especially one that includes daily prayers for each other! We’re excited to continue our journey with our new-found connection beyond the 5 weeks of prayer as we support her in her journey as well. We pray that she find clarity amidst the heaps of information when choosing an agency/program; that she find peace in her decision to choose adoption; and that she feels supported and encouraged by the people in her life as she embarks on this new journey. The time is coming near.

35 weeks. We have been so overwhelmed by the support and love of all of our family and friends over the past several months. It is truly incredible and has not gone unnoticed. We now have an even bigger ask. An ask that doesn’t come easy. With only a few weeks until baby’s due date, we have adoption and attorney costs quickly approaching. Although these fees seem difficult, we know that they will ensure that Mama M is able to be cared for and supported; that all aspects of this adoption are handled ethically and with integrity. In an effort to honor our support system, we invite you to be a PIECE of our adoption!
